What is wi-fi?

Wi-fi and broadband should be considered separately. Our speedy network sends speeds direct to your router, and broadband requires a physical connection, usually via an ethernet cable. Wi-fi gives you the ability to connect multiple devices instantly and freely over a wireless connection. Wi-fi devices will share the speeds, so you will always see less than your package speed over a wi-fi device, and less again if that’s shared across multiple devices. A broadband cable gives you a more stable connection but less ability to move around freely. It’s worth considering how you’re going to make use of this around the home: could you cable the bigger devices? How many devices do you need to connect via wi-fi?
