Grain is set to deliver the country’s fastest broadband network to Strawberry Grange – Story Homes’ exclusive development in Cockermouth, Cumbria.
The agreement will see UK-owned Grain install true new build fibre broadband to Phase 1 of the development – 96 new homes across the new community, building to 320 by the end of Phase 3.
The announcement comes just weeks after the hyperfast broadband company secured an exclusive agreement with Countesswells in Scotland.
Grain Managing Director Rich Robinson said the agreement was the result of a long working relationship between Story Homes and Grain’s founding partners.
“Grain offers broadband speeds of up to 1,000 megabits per second – 35 times faster than the UK average – which is almost unheard of in rural communities,” he said.
“We have known the team at Story Homes a long time now, most recently working with them on the Crindledyke Farm site in Carlisle, so to be able to take this up a level to deliver the UK’s fastest broadband to the exclusive Strawberry Grange community in Cockermouth is really exciting.”
“We will be working closely with Story Homes to potentially look at delivering the same hyperfast fibre broadband offer to each and every new home they build.”
Strawberry Grange is an exclusive development of three, four and five-bedroom properties in Cockermouth, Cumbria.
