Fibre Network Designer

Recruiting a Fibre Network Designer is key to meeting our ambitious roll out plan, in the next stage of our company growth. This position will play a vital role in ensuring we deliver accurate and efficient designs to our build teams, and effectively manage any changes required as we go through the plan and build life cycle.

Working closely with all departments across the business, you will provide data accuracy and integrity to ensure we build a best-in-class network and customer experience. Though this is a remote-based role, site visits will be required.

Main Responsibilities

  • Offer technical assistance in drawing production
  • Provide analysis
  • Carry out fibre-optic network design
  • Topology layout
  • Create fibre splice, cable duct and routing plans
  • Provide calculations on non-routine assignments of substantial variety and complexity
  • Assist in the physical implementation of the design

Experience required

  • Experienced in using AutoCAD
  • Understanding of FTTP methodologies, and design for MDU and SDU
  • Detailed understanding of all aspects of civils route planning
  • Detailed understanding of all aspects of fibre planning
  • Ability to understand and produce detailed industry-standard levels of survey, installation and as-built documentation
  • Detailed understanding of UK local and national authority regulations in respect to civil engineering works
  • Detailed understanding and working experience of Wayleave
  • Creation of BOM’s for all the material, equipment and components required for the layout
  • Site survey experience
  • Knowledge of NRSWA
  • A full clean driving licence is required to carry out site visits
