Permitting Manager

We are recruiting for the above position in Carlisle, based out of our Head Office.

The working hours will be 37.5 hour per week, which will be worked Monday – Friday between 9am – 5pm.

About this role

We are looking to recruit an experienced Permitting Manager to join our growing team. The post holder will be the main point of contact for all permit related work within our team and will take responsibility for ensuring compliance with all NRSWA and permitting.

The Permitting Manager will take responsibility for building a structured plan that creates and maintains effective working relationships with Local Authorities across the UK and will support the team with our ambitious fibre roll-out plans, ensuring that high standards are achieved and maintained.

Main Responsibilities

  • Ensuring we are submitting and closing permits in-line with local requirements.
  • Dealing promptly and effectively with any escalations brought to your attention.
  • Leading the permitting team, setting objectives and driving a high-performance culture.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with Local Authorities.
  • Having the ability to understand who the key stakeholders in each of our town local authorities are and proactively building and maintaining those relationships and working collaboratively with other departments.
  • Work with the Brownfield operations team to ensure we are proactively liaising with stakeholders prior to works starting in a town.
  • Ensure that data, reports and presentations are compiled to effectively monitor performance and improvements.
  • Responsible for gathering and collating evidence in relation to any challenges received from local authorities in relation to NRSWA and assist in the timely submission of such evidence to the required authority.

Experience required

  • Working knowledge of Symology and Street Manager
  • NRSWA Supervisor Qualified
  • TMA and/or Chapter 8, Reinstatement and Site Management
  • Experience of working with Microsoft Office
  • Expertise in NRSWA and understanding of applying the regulations
  • Experience of line management
  • Operational and industry experience within Telecoms ideally but will consider candidates from other utilities.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Organised problem-solving approach
  • Full UK Driving licence
