Food, mingling, and dancing (yes…dancing)!
Usually, when we mention connection, we talk about our Gigabit-capable, super-speedy network. However, last weekend was all about human connection, with our annual Big Summer BBQ! Colleagues from all over the UK came together to appreciate the diverse talents and perspectives within our company for a celebration of our collective achievements, hard work, and dedication.
Despite the weather exposing us to a downpour – we didn’t let the monsoon dampen our spirits. Our team enjoyed a night of food, mingling, mixing, and dancing (yes.. dancing) with team members from all over the country, in all departments.
Since our last annual Summer BBQ, we have been extremely busy here at Grain, welcoming growth and expansion, and working hard to roll Grain’s infrastructure out across the UK- all thanks to our hard-working and dedicated team, alongside the unwavering support of our loyal customers and partners.
Let’s take a look at what we have been up to since our last summer bash:
We raised an additional £110 million in funding from our investors, giving us a lease to expand exponentially to provide our services to a much broader and greater audience nationwide. Allowing for networks to be installed nationwide, providing fast speeds at low prices, and connecting more UK residents.
We have welcomed new talent throughout the UK, with our team growing rapidly, not just within our Carlisle HQ, but throughout our national team – including people from all backgrounds, locations, and diversities.
We have been proactively involved with our ‘Charity of the Year’ – the mental health charity Mind, with our team participating in a number of fundraisers, including a 10k and Half Marathon, a Pub Quiz, and a team walk in the Lake District – through a torrential downpour. All of which for a great cause that we could not be more proud to represent. Through volunteering, charitable donations, or sustainable practices, we have been very happy to support such an important organisation.
With such a successful year under our belts, our Financial Director Roland Barzegar said: “From year to year, our growth has been phenomenal, and we’re incredibly proud of what we’ve accomplished in a short space of time.
“We owe our year-on-year growth to the incredible talent in our business, who have worked tirelessly to make it all possible. We’ve also got some really supportive investors in Equitix, Albion Capital, and Pinnacle Group, and recently secured an exciting new banking partnership with Nord/LB.
“But we’re not stopping there, we’ll soon be expanding into new areas and continuing in our mission to bring super-fast, reliable, and affordable broadband packages to local communities across the UK.”
None of our achievements would have been possible without our dedicated team. We owe our success to the talented individuals who have poured their energy and expertise into our company, being a part of our incredible journey, and here’s to many more years of success together!
