How it works

Frequently asked questions

  • How do we sign up?

Because each business is different, we ask that you call our dedicated fibre experts who can talk through the specific needs of your business. This allows us to understand your current set-up, find the perfect Full Fibre solution for your business, and schedule an install at a time to suit you and your customers.

  • How will you install the service?

Each business is different, so we we will work with you to plan the best route for optimised performance and minimal disruption.

  • Any downtime during the install?

Because we provide our own dedicated fibre, you can have two services running side by side while you switch to Grain from your old provider, meaning no downtime for your team. Simply avoid cancelling your old service until the new one is live and active in your premises.

  • Can we get our own leased line?

Yes! We provide leased lines via our Dedicated Internet Access (DIA) packages as well as different packages for business parks and larger businesses. If your business needs a leased line, or something more than a High Street business package, give us a call and we can talk through your requirements before providing a quote.

  • Will our prices increase during our contract?

Business to business, we understand the challenges you face. That’s why Grain will never put prices up during your fixed-term contract. Ever.

  • Can we keep our own kit?

Yes! As part of the installation process, we will talk through your requirements, and if you want to keep your own equipment, we can factor that in.

  • How does the business phone service work?

We use VoIP or ‘Voice over Internet Protocol’ technology, which is a reliable and modern telephone service. At it’s simplest, it works like Facetime or Skype – allowing you and your team to make telephone calls over your broadband service, without the need for additional line rental.

  • Can businesses use automated switching?

Businesses are not included in the current rollout of the One Touch Switch. However, this feature is due to be extended to business customers in approximately 12 months. This phased rollout will allow us to address any potential issues and optimise the feature for all users.

Businesses can still switch providers through traditional methods. Any questions? Please contact our Customer Support team for support with the switching process.

We will provide updates and announcements about the rollout to business customers through our website and direct communications. Be sure to check our website regularly or subscribe to our newsletter for the latest information.
