How it works

Frequently asked questions

  • How does the business phone service work?

We use VoIP or ‘Voice over Internet Protocol’ technology, which is a reliable and modern telephone service. At it’s simplest, it works like Facetime or Skype – allowing you and your team to make telephone calls over your broadband service, without the need for additional line rental.

  • Can a static IP help if I run a home business?

Definitely. A static IP is ideal for home businesses that host services, manage remote access, or rely on stable online systems, offering greater control, reliability, and easier network management.

  • Can we get our own leased line?

Yes! We provide leased lines via our Dedicated Internet Access (DIA) packages as well as different packages for business parks and larger businesses. If your business needs a leased line, or something more than a High Street business package, give us a call and we can talk through your requirements before providing a quote.

  • Can businesses use automated switching?

Businesses are not included in the current rollout of the One Touch Switch. However, this feature is due to be extended to business customers in approximately 12 months. This phased rollout will allow us to address any potential issues and optimise the feature for all users.

Businesses can still switch providers through traditional methods. Any questions? Please contact our Customer Support team for support with the switching process.

We will provide updates and announcements about the rollout to business customers through our website and direct communications. Be sure to check our website regularly or subscribe to our newsletter for the latest information.

  • Why does Full Fibre matter for businesses?

Full Fibre is built for the way businesses work today.

    – Faster uploads – Unlike many providers, we provide symmetrical upload and download speeds for large file transfers, video calls and data back-ups.

    – Dedicated fibre – We fit each and every property with their own dedicated fibre line, so businesses can enjoy better reliability and no dropouts at peak times.

  • Is Full Fibre available for my business?

Check your postcode to find out if Grain Full Fibre broadband is available at your business premise.

If we’re not yet available, you can register your interest to be the first to know if and when we do come to your area.

  • How do I sign up?

Check your postcode to see our latest business broadband deals. Pick the one that best meets your needs and, whether we are live in your area or not, you can sign up online to reserve the offer.

  • How will you install the business broadband service?

Each business is different, so we’ll be in touch to talk through the best route for our fibre that will optimise performance and minimise disruption.

  • What does my business need symmetrical broadband speeds?

Symmetrical broadband allows for equal upload and download speeds. This is essential for businesses relying on cloud storage, VoIP, video conferencing, and large data transfers.

  • Can I use my own router?

Yes. You’re welcome to use your own equipment if you’d prefer.

Our fibre service is designed to be compatible with most professional-grade networking equipment, allowing you to maintain your preferred set-up.
