What's Full Fibre?
And how does it work?
WHAT'S FULL FIBRE BROADBAND?
The boring bits that make a big difference
Traditional 'fibre' networks are typically set up with fibre to the street cabinet, but copper cable to the home. A true Full Fibre connection, like ours, is built using 100% fibre-optic cable. This means you get a futureproof service, with better speeds and no slowdowns at peak times.
Let's cut through the jargon

We’re 100% Full Fibre Full Fibre is considered the best UK broadband technology. It uses 100% fibre-optic cable, all the way to the home. The result? Faster, more reliable internet!

We’re an alternative network provider Alt nets (like us) provide a different kind of broadband service to the traditional ones you find on the market. We help create a bit of healthy competition, meaning better services and prices for you!

We’re building our own network We’re rolling out a new fibre network across the country. Every home and business gets its own dedicated connection, built for speed and reliability.

We deliver Fibre-to-the-Premises AKA FTTP. That just means the fibre goes directly to your home, not stopping halfway and relying on slower copper wires.

We use a Point-to-Point network This means your router is connected to your own dedicated fibre cable, which isn’t split between you and your neighbours – unlike PON networks.
NOT ALL BROADBAND IS EQUAL
There's 2 different ways we can describe our network and service. Let's break it down.
We deliver Fibre-to-the-Premises
(aka a direct, dedicated connection)
Basically, we go all the way – delivering Full Fibre straight to the router in your home. No copper, no compromises.
But not all providers do the same, check out the difference:
Our network is Point-to-Point
(Fibre with no splits & no slowdowns)
Not only do we deliver fibre all the way to your home, we build it differently.
Our Point-to-Point (PTP) network gives you your own personal fibre cable, not split or shared between you and your neighbours. When you share a fibre cable, you also share speeds – and we don’t do that.
Why does Full Fibre matter to you?
Whether you’re a family of streamers, a remote worker, or just love a good online game, Full Fibre keeps up with your digital life. Zoom calls? Crystal clear. HD streaming? Smooth as butter. Multiple devices? No problem. Your broadband should keep up with your lifestyle, not slow it down.

What’s the difference between part fibre and Full Fibre?
With part-fibre, there is copper somewhere between the internet and your home – no doubt slowing down your service.
With Full Fibre, fibre optic cable is used from the data centre to your home. Zero copper.

What broadband can I get?
The million-dollar question! The type of broadband you can get depends on your location. Our fibre cables need to be installed in your street and to your property. Want to know if you’re in the Grain zone? Check your postcode.
If we’re not in your area yet, don’t worry. Building our own independent network takes time. To be the first to know if and when we do come to your street, register your interest today.

How is fibre internet installed?
The installation of fibre internet involves running fibre optic cables to your home. One of our expert engineers will then install a router at your premises (unless you have one already).
This equipment converts the light signals from the fibre into data that your devices can use. The process may involve some drilling to bring the cable inside but is pretty seamless, and we always tidy up – promise! Find out more. -
What much does it cost to get fibre installed?
Ready for the best part? Installation of Grain Full Fibre is completely free! Yup, you read that right – free standard installations by our team of expert engineers, with no hidden costs or up front charges. Just fast, reliable internet brought straight to your home.
