Switch & Ditch
Grain’s Switch & Ditch promotion (The Promotion) is open to new Grain customers who have a live service available on their street at the point of order but are still in contract with another provider (Current Provider).
The Promotion allows eligible customers to have both their Current Provider’s service and Grain’s service running at the same time, while they transition to Grain, and only pay a minimum fee to Grain for between 1 and 6 months (depending on the remaining minimum commitment period for their Current Provider’s service).
1. In these Terms and Conditions, “Grain”, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to Grain Connect Ltd while “you” and “your” refer to you, our prospective customer.
2. This Promotion is only available to new Grain residential or High Street Business customers:
2.1. who sign up for any of Grain’s minimum commitment broadband packages for their premises (“Premises”) between 1 November 2022 and 31 December 2025 (both dates inclusive) via telephone call with one of our sales representatives;
2.2. who, immediately before such sign up, have no existing agreement for broadband service with Grain for those Premises; and
2.3. who, at the time of such sign up, receive broadband service at the Premises from their Current Provider.
3. To qualify for the Promotion, at the time you place your order for one of the packages, you must provide Grain with a screenshot or other image of documentation/correspondence from your Current Provider which clearly evidences:
3.1. that you are currently receiving a broadband service at the Premises from your Current Provider; and
3.2. the remaining minimum commitment period for your Current Provider’s broadband service at the Premises.
4. The Proof you provide under Clause 3 above should not comprise the entire contract which you have with your Current Provider – just relevant excerpts of it or other communications with your Current Provider which provide us with the evidence required
5. It is Grain’s decision as to whether the proof you provide is acceptable in connection with this Promotion. If we are satisfied with your proof, this Promotion will be applied to your Order Confirmation.
6. You must pay one initial monthly payment, in full, to activate the service, then the following months will be charged at £1 per month, up until the pre-agreed date, at which time your contract with your Current Provider will end.
Timescale (First Month) – One monthly payment in full at the pre agreed package price, taken at the point at which your service goes live, following the installation of your router
Timescale (Monthly while both contracts are running) – Monthly payment of £1, until your contract with your Current Provider ends, up to a maximum of 5 months.
Timescale (After expiry of the offer) – Monthly payment at the pre agreed package price for the remaining term of your fixed term contract with Grain. Beyond this, your monthly payment will revert to the full package price.
After expiry of the Promotion Period, you will be charged for your new Grain package in line with the pre-agreed amount for your package.
Any additional package add-ons such as phone packages will be charged separately and are not part of this Promotion.
1. When you have completed your Order, you will receive an order confirmation email from us reflecting the Promotion.
2. If you do not provide acceptable Proof at the time you place your Order, you will not qualify for this Promotion. In those circumstances, our sales representatives will be able to inform you if there are any other relevant promotions available at that time.
3. No Installation Fee will be payable under this Promotion if you opt for our standard installation. Non-standard installations will be charged as per our price guide and these will be agreed before any installation takes place. Any non-standard install will be surveyed and agreed before our engineer carries out any work.
4. This Promotion is only available at premises which are already covered by our network.
5. It is your own responsibility to cancel your contract with your Current Provider in line with the terms of their agreement. Grain cannot be held responsible for failure to do so.
6. Our Residential Terms & Conditions will apply to your Order.
7. We reserve the right to terminate, cancel, suspend, or amend this Promotion at any time.
8. These Terms are governed by English law and you agree to the jurisdiction of the English courts. -

Marketing Claims - Pricing
No in-contract price rises
We pledge to never increase your prices within your fixed-term contract. When you sign up for a fixed price contract, you will pay the price quoted at the start of your contract and we will not enforce any other inflationary or specific price upon you within your fixed-term.
Best value broadband
The best value broadband claim is based on a combination of the below measures – we believe Grain to be the only UK broadband provider who can offer all four of these value-added benefits to customers:
- The lowest priced national provider in the UK (price comparisons below)
- A Trustpilot rating of 4.8 (rating comparisons below)
- Deploying each premise with its own dedicated fibre line, instead of a line shared with their neighbours (further information below)
- Fixed-price broadband for the whole contract term (price rise comparisons below)
Saving comparisons
The Lowest Priced Broadband claim is based on comparisons and saving amounts taken directly from publicly available prices from major competitors websites on 11/05/26. They are calculated using Grain broadband package pricing for June 2026, based on 24-month contract and using the closest like-for-like broadband product and inclusive of additional fees and annual in-contract price rises of other broadband providers. Excludes regional providers.
Grain’s claim “Free Broadband” relates to the offer period from 1 June to 30 June 2026, where some products are available with an introductory discount, with up to four months free of charge.

Marketing Claims - Speed
Package speed expectations
The package speeds advertised are those which are sent to the router in your home via the Full Fibre broadband connection from Grain. Speeds measured during a speed test may vary, and the speeds you experience will depend on your distance from the router/ Wi-fi extender, usage and equipment. A wired connection will always deliver the best speeds. Subject to customer equipment capability, expected upload and download speeds on the Full Fibre 1000 package are 900Mbps and expected upload and download speeds on the Full Fibre 2000 package are 1900Mbps.
Speed Comparison
Speed comparisons such as “up to 16 times faster” are based on the UK average download speeds (170.2Mbps) and UK average upload speeds (59Mbps) published by Ofcom, and measured in Quarter 1 of 2025, compared to the highest possible upload and download speed available from Grain (1000Mbps). Read more on USwitch here. https://www.uswitch.com/broadband/compare/fibre_optic/fibre-broadband-statistics/
Fibre not shared with neighbours
Grain uses a Fibre to the Premise network (FTTP), with one fibre cable per property through Point to Point (PTP) technology. This means that the fibre cable is not being shared with other premises on the street, giving customers the full available bandwidth and therefore a faster, more reliable and uncontended service. Some other providers who offer Full Fibre use Passive Optical Network (PON) technology and share fibres across premises on the same street or cabinet using a splitter.
Equal upload and download speeds
The package speeds available for you are the same for uploading as they are downloading. For example, on the Full Fibre 500 package, your upload speed will be 500Mbps and your download speed will be 500Mbps. This is the maximum you can expect, but this will depend on your equipment, usage and proximity to the router/ wi-fi extender. This is consistent across all of our residential premises.

Marketing Claims - Service
UKs Best Broadband Tech
The UK’s best broadband tech claim is based on the Ofcom, the UK’s independent regulator for communications, opinion that Full Fibre broadband is better for speed and reliability. Read more from Ofcom here. https://www.ofcom.org.uk/phones-and-broadband/telecoms-infrastructure/full-fibre-to-reach-half-of-homes-as-competition-drives-better-broadband
No poles on the Grain network
Grain have never, and pledge that they will never, install a telegraph pole on their independent Full Fibre network as part of their roll out across the UK. All new network installations will be placed safely underground – a modern way of installing, without the need for unsightly poles being placed within local communities.
Connect over 60 devices
The Zyxel EX5601 router is capable of connecting more than 60 devices simultaneously across its two wireless bands (24GHz and 5GHz) which can accommodate up to 32 devices each. This allows devices to share the speeds being pushed to the router. There is the potential to expand this further to connect even more devices by enabling a guest network, which comes with its own capacity limit, or by adding a Zyxel Mesh solution, such as the bundled Wi-fi extender which comes with the “Boost” and “Pro” packages. The Wi-fi Extender can connect up to 64 additional devices. The Zyxel EX5601 router is available to residential customers signing up to the Full Fibre 500 or Full Fibre 1000 packages, or to customers who are already installed but wish to upgrade to a Zyxel router. Upgrade costs can be found in our Price Guide.

We will never cap your data usage or charge you more for your data. Fair Usage Policy applies.

We will never run a credit check on you when you sign up for a Grain broadband package or during your contract with us.
