Winner of prestigious North West award

Ben, who is an integral part of the Grain finance team, won the “Rising Star” of the year award at the Robert Walters North West Finance Awards.

Ben, 28, was handed the prize on Thursday 8 June at the annual awards ceremony in Manchester

Carlisle born Ben joined Grain 18 months ago as Financial Controller and has been an integral part of the broadband providers team as they grow and deliver a Full Fibre service to customers up and down the UK.

Ben said of the award: “It is an honour to be recognised for my work here at Grain, which I am only able to do as part of a wider talented Finance team. To be recognised by the Grain leadership team, and then by the prestigious panel of judges at the awards is a great feeling.

“It was a great opportunity to be up in front of the panel of judges, and to be able to showcase everything I have contributed. I am proud that I have been able to win an award that stretches right across the NW region, and truly represent Carlisle as a place where your career can flourish.

“Grain was my first career move out of financial practice, and it is a credit to Grain that they provided me with this opportunity and the time to grow and develop my skills. It is a company full of promise and I am really excited about where this will take my career.”

The awards judging panel was made up of representatives of HSBC, ACCA and Robert Walters amongst others.
