Residents are set to benefit from our significant Full Fibre Blyth broadband network rollout and investment, allowing them to experience some of the fastest broadband speeds available at an affordable price.
The community will be able to reach speeds up to 900Mb (on a 1Gb line), with a dedicated fibre cable direct to each home and business. This technology means the service is much faster than traditional copper networks, which only take fibre to the cabinet, relying on customers sharing a connection and speeds with their neighbours.
Currently, the average download speed in Blyth is between 43Mb and 148Mb, with an average upload speed of 18Mb. The installation of our fibre optic network, therefore, means residents will soon be able to access download speeds up to 20 times faster, and upload speeds that are 49 times faster.
The price of broadband has increased by approximately 9.3% in the past year, with residents in the area currently spending an average £30.22 per month on broadband – equivalent to £0.57 per Mb of download speed.
With access to our network, residents can reserve 3 months of Full Fibre broadband for only £1, with discounted prices from only £19.99 for the full 18-month contract, giving residents a saving of over £241 compared to the average cost in the area. The North-East is a key region set to benefit from the expansion of our network rollout, with work to install the infrastructure in Blyth now underway.
